Our Mission
The mission of the Higher Education & Conference Center
at HEAT is to provide high quality, accessible educational opportunities and services in support of upper-level undergraduate and graduate programs and courses that promote individual, community and economic development for the population of Northeastern Maryland.
Introduction
Harford Community College coordinates the academic programs at the Higher Education & Conference Center and manages the facilities. The College initiates partnerships with other colleges and universities to bring degree programs to Harford County.
Programs at the Higher Education & Conference Center support the college's commitment to life-long learning for personal and career growth. Course schedules are flexible and designed for working adults.
Each of the partnering colleges or universities provides the faculty, sets degree requirements, tuition, and class schedules. Students enroll directly with the partnering institution that collects all tuition and fees and confers all degrees.
Associate Degree Programs
Students in the Northeast region of Maryland can attend associate level undergraduate classes at Harford Community College or Cecil Community College and transfer credits to the Partner Academic Programs.
HEAT Partner Academic Programs
The partnering institutions offer junior and senior level courses leading to a bachelor's degree in specific programs offered at the Higher Education & Conference Center. Articulation agreements formed between the College and the institutions facilitate the transfer process.
Master and post master degree programs at the Higher Education & Conference Center enable busy adults to pursue a master's degree or certificate program while continuing to advance their careers.
Getting Started
Students attending degree programs at the Higher Education & Conference Center must follow admission, program and registration requirements for the school they are attending. Since these processes vary from school to school, it is important that students contact the college or university for specific requirements.
